Fitzpatrick takes oath

MILFORD - Pike County Acting Prothonotary Denise Fitzpatrick was sworn in as Prothonotary this month by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Joseph Kameen at the Courthouse. Fitzpatrick was former Chief Deputy Prothonotary under Prothonotary Joyce Helms, who retired on Aug. 19 after 40 years of county employment in the Prothonotary’s office. Fitzpatrick, who is a Dingman Township resident, was recommended by Helms to be the Acting Prothonotary, subsequently appointed as Prothonotary by Pennsylvania Govenernor Ed Rendell and on Nov. 21, the Pennsylvania Senate confirmed the appointment. She will serve out Helms terms, which ends on December 31, 2007.
