Greeley firefighters celebrate 50th anniversary

Volunteers prepare for August celebration Greeley — Greeley Volunteer Fire & Rescue was organized by community minded friends and neighbors who saw a need and acted to provide for the safety of family, friends and neighbors. Only one of those pictured in the photo is still with us, but two successive generations of volunteers have carried on their proud tradition of selfless service to the community. In many instances these volunteers are children and grandchildren of charter members. Members of Greeley Volunteer Fire & Rescue are offering thanks their supporters by inviting them to join them for their 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Aug 16. (Sunday, Aug 17 rain date) Activities will include; a parade through Greeley and a family picnic followed by a fireworks display on the firehouse grounds. Celebration events on August 16 will include: a parade through the streets and roads of Greeley, a handmade quilt raffle, food stands, entertainment, games and a fireworks display.
