Local students win graduate honors

DALLAS - Two Milford residents were inducted into the Beta Chi Chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society during ceremonies at the Banks Student Life Center at College Misericordiaon on May 7. Debra Anne Lewis and Patricia Ann Ward, who both earned degrees in Professional Studies, were among 18 graduates inducted. Alpha Sigma Lambda is the honor society for continuing education students. Its aim is to recognize the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. Founded and Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy in 1924, College Misericordia is Luzerne County’s first four-year college and offers 30 academic majors on the graduate and undergraduate levels in full- and part-time formats.
