WESTFALL - On the weekend of Jan. 21, Delaware Valley Senior percussionist Shane Velsor and Freshman alto clarinetist, Anthony Testino accompanied music director, Lance Rauh to Whitehall High School in Allentown to participate in the annual District 10 Band Festival. They were among 140 students from over 60 area schools to participate in the auditioned symphonic band. Under the direction of Ron Demkee, the conductor of the noted Allentown Band, the students had the opportunity to perform high-level, symphonic literature. Shane entered the festival ranked seventh in the district and improved to rank third after the re-auditions. Anthony entered second and finished first. As a result, both have earned a spot at the Region V Band Festival to be held at Central York High School in early March. This is the first time two Delaware Valley band students have achieved this accomplishment in the same year.
