Angela ('Angie') Mims

    Angela (“Angie”) Mims of Blakely, Pa., died on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at home. She was 58.

    Daughter of Vincent Filardo and the late Mary (Natale) Filardo, she was born June 20, 1957, in Englewood, N.J. She married Kenneth J. Mims on April 2, 1977, in Upper Saddle River, N.J.

    She was a member and past-president of the Greeley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She became a Lion in October 2001 and was a 15-year member and past-president of the Milford Lions Club, past District Governor of Pennsylvania Lions District 14-U during 2012-13, member of the board of directors of the Lions International Convention Committee, and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, Joe Wrobeleski Award and Pennsylvania Fellow Award. The Partner in Service of current District 14-U Ken Mims and a member of Milford Lions Club, she was named earlier this month to serve as a member of the MD-14 International Committee.

    Survivors include her husband, Kenneth J. Mims; three daughters, Melissa Seidof of Jermyn, Pa., Kelly Phillips of Barnegat, N.J., Kristen Mims of Mayfield, Pa.; her father, Vincent Filardo of Manchester, N.J.; brother, Vincent Filardo Jr. of Garrison, N.Y.; three sisters, Josephine Filardo of Bricktown, N.J., Judy Ann Wehking of Hampton, Va.; Kathrine Filardo of Manchester, N.J.; and seven grandchildren

    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ann’s Church in Shohola on Aug. 19, with the Rev. Thomas Major officiating.
