Anne Elizabeth DiCiano
Anne Elizabeth DiCanio (nee Kavulich) of Shohola, Pa., died on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at home. She was 83.
Daughter of Michael Kavulich and Anna Delury Kavulich, she was born on Oct. 31, 1933, in Jersey City, N.J.
She was raised in Rochelle Park, N.J., along with her late brother Michael Kavulich.
Growing up in Rochelle Park, she attended Sacred Heart Grammar School, Hackensack High School, and furthered her education at St. Mary's Hospital in Passiac, N.J., where she studied and became a registered nurse.
After working for Dr. Ralph Fioretti for 10 years, she married Patrick DiCanio in 1964. They were married for 52 years.
They started a family first settling in Waldwick, N.J., and shortly thereafter settled in Wantage, N.J. She then went back to work part-time as a nurse caring for the elderly in nursing homes in Sussex and Morris County, N.J. Because of her love for New England, Anne and Patrick once again packed up and moved to Alstead, N.H., in 1986 where she continued to enjoy life with her husband, son, and grandchildren.
In 1995, Anne and her family moved on last time and settled in Shohol. Throughout her life she was forever devoted to her family and the Catholic Church and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick; son, Michael and wife, Jerilyn; grandchildren, James and Eric DiCanio; sister-in-law, Rose Kavulich; nieces, Michelle Abbruzzese andLisa McDermott; and nephew, Gary Kavulich.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Michael Kavulich.
A mass was held at St. Ann's Church in Shohola on Feb. 24. Arrangements were by the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville, N.Y.
