Claire Elaine Kingsberg

    Claire Elaine (Schofield) Kingsberg of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., died on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, with her family at her side. She was 85.

    She was born on July 20, 1930, in Norwood, Pa., to Anna and Charles Schofield and was their only child.

    She graduated from Kane High School and attended the University of Georgia. She married William James Kingsberg on Sept. 1, 1955. They moved to West Chester, Pa., where they lived for 34 years and raised their four children.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 1993.

    She worked at the Pocopson Home in Chester County, Pa., in the Activities Department for several years before retiring.

    Upon retiring, she moved to Milford, to live near two of her daughters for the next 20 years or so. She enjoyed living in the rural area of Dingmans Ferry with her little dog, Lady.

    She was a creative and clever person who enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking cookies, quilting and spending time with her children and seven grandchildren. She was a good mother and wonderful grammie.

    Survivors include her four children, Pamela and Morris Goldblatt of Wilmington, Del., Claire and Thomas Mincer and three children, Elizabeth, Sarah and Thomas Jr. of Milford, James and Cynthia Kingsberg and two children, Maddie and Matthew of Hawthorne Woods, Ill., and Amy and David Garrison and two children, Sydney and Maya of Milford.

    A private gathering of her family to celebrate and remember her life will be planned at a later date.
