Dennis Horner, Jr.

Dennis Horner Jr. of Port Jervis, NY passed away at home on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022. He was 43 years old.

He was born on December 18, 1978 in Goshen, N.Y. and is the son of Dennis Horner, Sr. who survives.

Dennis formerly worked as a manager at Rapid Rooter in Montrose, N.Y. He was a past officer for Neversink Fire Department Engine 1.

Dennis was a coach for the PAYAL Football League and the team Marlins for T-Ball. He was an avid Jets fan. Dennis was a Section 9 All-American champion for the PJ Red Raiders and for PJ Wrestling.

He was very proud of his son, Bryce, being a US Marine. Dennis loved hunting and was full of life, he never stopped fighting with his health battles, and would never give up.

Dennis lived for his family. He is survived by his wife Miranda L. Bensley Horner at home; one son, Bryce Horner USMC of Jacksonville, N.C.; two sisters, Kelly Storms and husband William of Huguenot, N.Y., and Dawn Horner and fiancé Chad Horn of Milford, Pa.; one brother, Donald Horner and wife Rebecca of Liberty, N.Y; one sister-in-law, Jennifer Bensley and Kristin; beloved mother and father-in-law, Karen Dunning and Bill; Nieces and nephews, Austin Shauger, Christian, Hunter, Mason, and Liam Storms, Patrick Horner, Alexandria Horner, Andrea “Fran,” Elisha, and Devon Grimm, Bane Bensley; several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 7 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, followed by funeral services with Rev. Hunter Storms officiating.
