Dolores Albertina Kolvenbach

Dolores Albertina Kolvenbach of Matamoras, Pa., died on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was 75.
Daughter of Elmer and Mildred Furman Masurack, she was born on Sept. 6, 1941, in Matamoras.
She was a graduate of the Delaware Valley Joint High School and the Central Academy of Newburgh. She retired as a clerical worker for the Delaware Valley High School. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, past-treasurer and longtime Sunday School teacher. She was a charter member and past president of the Keystone Community Club; past-president of the Pike County Federation of Women's Club; served for many years as income development chairman for the Pike County Cancer Society; a past committee women for the Westfall Township Republican party, and Judge of Elections. She was a member of the Pike County Republican Women's Club and a former leader of the 4-H Club and Cub Scouts. She was also a member of the Matamoras/Westfall Historical Society and a member of Friends of The Milford Library.
She was married to John M. Kolvenbach Jr. for 56 years. Together they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and especially going to all their grandchildren's athletic games, recitals and school events.
Survivors include her husband, John, at home; two sons, Mitchell Kolvenbach and his wife, Kelly, of Glen Spey, and Gregory Kolvenbach and his wife, Cheryl, of Glen Spey; two daughters, Darcy Brodmerkel and her companion, Laura Angeline, of Shavertown, Pa., and Jonell Kilmer and her husband. Robert. of Millrift, Pa.; sister, Joyce Zitone and her husband, Edward, of Montague, N.J.; grandchildren, Hunter, Abigail, Garrett, Braelyn and Hailee Kolvenbach, William Colley and his wife, Sarah, and Sean Colley and his wife, Kristin; and several nieces nephews and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Elmer and Mildred Masurack; brother, Elmer Masurack; father- and mother-in-law, John and Dorothy Kolvenbach; sister-in law, JoAnn Kolvenbach; brother- in-law, Robert Doss; and niece Elizabeth Bisland.
The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Robert Dinsmore and his staff, and the nurses at ORMC second floor oncology unit and the staff at Celtic Hospice who always gave her kindness and compassionate care. Special thanks to all her friends that continued to send cards, food and prayers and especially to her nieces and nephews that throughout her illness were there continuously to help and bring her joy.
Visitation was held Oct. 27 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis. Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at the United Methodist Church of Matamoras. The Rev. Lora Villinger officiated.
