Dorothy M. Evans

Dorothy M. Evans of New Providence, N.J., formerly of Milford, Pa., died on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at the ManorCare Health Facility in New Providence. She was 88.
Daughter of Anthony and Catherine Warzywoda Michalski, she was born on Nov. 3, 1927, in Newark, N.J.
She retired as a bookkeeper from the real estate and insurance firm of O'Conner-Laffey in North Arlington, N.J. She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Hampton, N.J., a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church in New Providence, N.J., and St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Port Jervis, N.Y. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Madonna #114, Port Jervis.
Her husband, Richard Joseph Evans, pre-deceased her.
Survivors include her son, Richard John Evans, and his wife, Carmelina, of Berkeley Heights, N.J., and her granddaughter, Danielle.
She was pre-deceased by her brothers, John, Walter, Edward, Theodore, and Frank Michalski.
Prayers were offered Oct. 4 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis, N.Y., followed by a Mass of Chistian Burial at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Port Jervis. The Rev. Matthew Newcomb was the celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
