Eileen Sue Vidal of Goshen, NY, age 76, died peacefully on Feb. 2, 2023. Eileen was born Dec. 7, 1946, to Calvin and Mabel Platt.
One of 6 children, Eileen grew up in Monsey, N.Y. and attended Spring Valley High School. She participated on the cheerleading squad for the basketball and soccer teams and sang for the school chorus.
Some of Eileen’s favorite pursuits included sewing, skiing, beach days at Ocean Grove, attending the Spring Valley Reformed Church and cooking large family meals. When she was not working as a dental hygienist, she could be found playing with one of her many pets. She was especially fond of her cats and Weimaraner dogs. Eileen had a very successful breeding program, of which many champion Weimaraner pups were produced.
Eileen is predeceased by her mother, father, and one brother. She is survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Our family is immensely grateful to the wonderful staff at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Kingston, NY and Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Goshen, NY.
There will a private service and burial for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Hudson Valley SPCA animal shelter (www.hudsonvalleyspca.org).
