Gerard 'Jerry' Condon

    Gerard “Jerry” Condon of Milford died on Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice House, Fredon, N.J. He was 76.

    Son of the late William and Mae (Heenan) Condon he was born Nov. 10, 1938, in Brooklyn.

    He began his career as a New York City Patrolman and retired as a Captain from the FDNY, with the last 20 years with Ladder Co 123, Brooklyn. He was the current President of the Pocono Woodlands Homeowners Association, past member of the Milford Fire Department and Ambulance Corp, EMT instructor and a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1963 to 1965.

    He was married to the late Carol (McKay) Condon.

    Survivors include two daughters, Karen Hockenberry and her husband, David, of Milford, Kelly Oxley and her fiancé, Brian Benning, of Milford; son Kevin Condon and his wife, Debbie, of Slate Hill, N.Y.; sister, Dorothy Campbell of Manasquan, N.J.; six grandchildren, Lea, Jamie, Ryan, Erin, Danny, Emily; and great-grandson Aayden.

    Visitation was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on March 23. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Milford, on March 24 with the Rev. Gregory Kelly officiating.

    Burial will take place in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa., with military honors at the convenience of the family.
