Isadore G. Padula Jr.

Isadore G. Padula Jr. of Milford, Pa., formerly of Belleville, N.J., died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife Donna, his children, and grandchildren. He was 86.
Son of the late Isadore J. Padula and Edith Padula, he was born in East Orange, N.J. He lived primarily in Belleville, retired as Belleville Director of Finance, C.M.F.O. and served the Township of Belleville for 35 years.
He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College and served as an Army Fixed Wing Pilot and then a helicopter pilot in the New Jersey National Guard, where he rose to the rank of captain. He served as president of the Essex County Civil Service Association and treasurer of the New Jersey Civil Service Association.
He was an avid motorcyclist, belonged to the Blue Knights in both New Jersey and Florida, was awarded "Oldest Riding Member at Americade, Lake George" in 2001, 2004, and 2005, and was one of the founding members of New Jersey's "Long Riders." He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Belleville, Chapter 835. For many years he served as a Martin County Deputy Sheriff in Stuart, Fla.
At the time of his passing, he was a member of Dingmans Ferry Wood Carvers and the American Association of Woodturners.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; son, Charles; daughter-in-law Lara, daughters, Elizabeth and Lynn; son-in-law, Werner; nine grandchildren, Vincent, Ashley, Nicole, Charles, Taylor, Alexandra, Melissa, Claudia and Conny; four great-grandchildren, Clara, Cuno, Werner and Curd; brother, Vincent W. Padula and his wife, Frances, of Manchester, N.J.; sister, Edith Barkauskas of Spring Lake, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were received at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on Feb. 20. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Milford, with the Rev. Alfred Vito officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
