James Kollbocker

James “Jim” Kollbocker of Ardmore, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was 75.
He was born in Franklin, N.J., to the late Irving and Pauline (nee Brown) Kollbocker.
He spent 20 years in the US Air Force, 12 years as a florist and many years as a part time college instructor. He was a graduate of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Mich. (BS and the University of Southern California, MS). He also received a diploma from the Air Force Institute of Technology and leadership and Management School at the University of Alabama.
While in the Air Force, he served his country in Japan, Korea, Michigan, Texas, Alabama and New Jersey. He retired in August 1984. He also served during the Vietnam War. After his retirement, he worked for many years as a florist and college instructor. Jim also taught at Valley Forge Military College, Wayne, Pa.
He was known for his love of country music, gardening, flea markets, reading and doing his beloved jigsaw puzzles. He was also known for his love of animals and had many pets during his lifetime.
Survivors include his wife, Toshiko Kollbocker; sister, Margaret Kollbocker of Hamburg, N.J.; brother, David Bruce Kollbocker and his wife, Linda, of Ephrata, Pa.; nieces, Amanda Kollbocker of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., and Hanna Crowther and her husband, Ryan, and their son, Theo, of Ephrata, Pa.; and his companion and caretaker Roger Doerfler.
