Joan J. Conklin

Joan J. Conklin of Port Jervis died on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, N.Y. She was 82.

Daughter of William and Christianna Livingston Flieger, she was born on Aug. 28, 1933, in Port Jervis. She married Raymond J. Conklin, who pre-deceased her.

Survivors include her three sons, Darius Conklin and his wife, Patti, of Port Jervis, Brad Conklin and his companion, Rose, of Opp, Alabama, Brian Conklin and his companion, Irene, of Yulan; three daughters, Korinne Thorpe of Port Jervis, and Colleen “Coe” Hammond and her husband, Richard, of Sparrowbush, Cheryl Olver and her husband, Russell, of Milford; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter Jennifer Conklin; her sisters Velma Trotta and Frances Amato; and her brothers Russell and William Flieger.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, N.Y. The Rev. Robert Cassidy will officiate. Arrangements are by the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis.
