Joan L. Hansen of Wantage, N.J., peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her residence. She was 87.

She was born to the late John and Marie (Cleary) Leeman on April 7, 1934, in New York, N.Y.

Mrs. Hansen lived in Vernon, N.J., and moved to Eden, Md., in 2003. She recently returned to Sussex County to be close to her family.

She and her late husband owned and operated Sussex County Power Equipment in Sussex, N.J., before their retirement.

She was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury, Md. She belonged to the Methodist Woman’s Club and enjoyed crocheting afghans for the church.

Mrs. Hansen and her husband enjoyed traveling together.

She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Hansen, in 2015; son, David Newman in 2002; brother, John “Jack” Leeman; and grandsons, Steven Salvador in 2009 and Jason Salvador in 2011.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Elaine Salvador, and her husband, Marc, of Wantage; and granddaughter, Kristina Stader and her husband, Mark, of Milford, Pa.

Private cremation services were arranged by the Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, N.J.
