A loving husband, caring father, proud poppy and brother, John B. McHugh, Jr., entered eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side. He was 64 years of age.
Born to the late John B. and Margaret (Long) McHugh, Sr., he was born on Aug. 18, 1958, in Yonkers, New York. John was married to Evelyn (Huff) McHugh on September 17, 1983.
He was a devout member of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Milford, PA, an avid car enthusiast and the family handyman. John always made sure to ask his girls about their cars and made sure they always had their oil changed on time.
A proud family man, John adored and cherished his girls and often made them his famous French toast with bananas and berries, along with making breakfast for his wife Evelyn every morning. A self-proclaimed, muffin man, he had a great love for sharing coffee and blueberry muffins with his girls. John also loved to grill and bake cakes for all his girls. There was never a day where he missed saying, “Dad loves you much.”
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Evelyn McHugh; his girls, Kerryanne McHugh, Erin McHugh, Shannon McVey and her husband, Colin; Kortney McHugh and her partner, Jon; grandchildren, Avery, Benjamin and Patrick; beloved fur-grandchild Ruga; along with siblings Matthew McHugh and his wife, Donna; Mark McHugh and his wife, Debra; Lisa Juliano and her husband, Vincent and Steven McHugh and his wife, Linda; his nieces and nephews; dear family friends Jeff and Lynn Jorgensen and their girls Nicole, Stephanie and Erica, along with many more family and dear friends.
Friends may call at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 4 PM with Rev. Joseph Manarchuck officiating. Cremation will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
