Joseph A. Mellia of Milford, Pa., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at his home. He was 84.
Son of the late Joseph and Concetta (Catalano) Mellia, he was born in New York, N.Y.
He was the loving husband of the late Antoinette (Occhiuto) Mellia.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Joseph served in the Armed Forces Reserve. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 922 and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children, John Mellia of Yonkers, N.Y., Linda Follini of Rye Brook, N.Y., Diane Smith of Conroe, Texas, Lori Solomon of New City, N.Y.; brother, Thomas Mellia of Nanuet, N.Y., and Charles Mellia of Tampa, Fla.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son Ronald C. Mellia.
Visitation was held Dec. 17 and 18 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Rd., Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial on Dec. 19 at St. Ann's Church, Tobyhanna, Pa. Entombment followed at Laurelwood Mausoleum, Stroudsburg.
