Joseph O. “Marlo” St. Onge, 86 of Milford, PA passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center, Honesdale, PA. He was a retired mechanic for Shannon Tree Company and former Milford Township employee, a member and past Chief of Milford Fire Department, Milford, PA, member of the Fire Police Association of PA, coach and umpire for Milford Little League, Pike County Days volunteer and a member of the Tuscarora Flying Club of Tamaqua, PA.

A member of the Milford community for over 30 years, “Marlo” would spend many hours volunteering with the Milford Fire Department by responding to calls, training, or working Bingo. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and tinkering on different projects - one of which was his most well known, “The Bus.” Later in life he found a new hobby and enjoyed flying his remote controlled airplanes with his buddies at the flying field in Tamaqua.

The son of the late Arthur O. and Aimee (Dumont) St. Onge, he was born May 25, 1937 in St. Johnsbury, VT. He was predeceased by his loving wife Rita A. (Tripp) St. Onge.

Joseph is survived by his children: Dominick St. Onge, JoAnne Mady, Sandra St. Onge and her boyfriend, Carl and Linda Kuehn and her husband, Wayne; grandchildren: Nicholas Mady, Jr., his wife, Samantha and their two children Bentley and Luke; Brian Mady, his girlfriend, Brittany and his daughter, Hayley; Samantha Hudson, her husband, Richard and their three children, Reece, Emilia and Arlo; Stanley Dutkus III, Hannah Thompson and Hayden Thompson; his sister, Nicole St. Onge and predeceased by his companion of 18 years, Mae Bittner.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. Firematic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on June 30, 2023. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Keith Raser officiating.

Cremation will take place at the MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford Township, PA at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to donors’ local Fire Department.
