Joy Marie Prignon

Joy Marie Prignon of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., died Jan. 22, 2016, at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She was 50.
Daughter of the late Joseph L. Prignon and Marilyn Prignon-Herbert, she was born on Nov. 19, 1965.
She is survived by her son, Michael J. Prignon of Dingmans Ferry.
She is a graduate of Delaware Valley High School, attended Oral Roberts University, and is an alumnus of the Julliard School of Music. She earned a Master’s Degree from Wayne University in Detroit, Mich., in vocal performance.
She was the director of Little Acorns Daycare and Musical Director of her church for 15 and 16 years, respectively.
When Joy faced and beat two bouts with Hodgkin’s disease, she did not give up. She just kept on singing, smiling, and living her life to the maximum fullness.
Survivors include her mother, Marilyn P. Herbert; son, Michael; brother, General Genaro J. Dellarocco, retired; sister, Marilyn Dellarocco Greene; brother-in-law Ronnie Greene; step-dad Andrew Herbert; fiancé Jerry Higgins; Aunt Janet Kobelia; Aunt Margaret Matteson; Uncle Wayne Matteson. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph; Uncle Walter D. Bushnell Jr.; Aunt Ethel Bushnell Barbano and Uncles John Barbano and Robert Kobelia. To Joy’s unforgettable and beloved Bushnell, Barbano, Kobelia and Matteson cousins and their families who blessed her life, please remember her smile and her laughter.
