Lanore M. Phillips

    Lanore M. Phillips of Middletown died quietly on Sunday, March 22, 2015, surrounded by her family and best friend. She was 66.

    She was born in Kingston, attended Goshen Central High School and Orange County Community College, and had a 45-year career at Horton Medical Center/Orange Regional Medical Center in Human Resources.

    Family was the most important part of Lanore's life. She also loved the Yankees, Elvis, playing softball and bowling. Her house parties were well known and well attended for years and years by her family and friends. Lanore loved to plan special annual vacations for her husband and daughter and many happy memories will be celebrated for many more years to come because of her careful planning. And she fulfilled her dream of a Florida retirement.

    Survivors include her husband of 46 years, William (Bill) Phillips; daughter, Sarah; brother-in-law, James Phillips, and his children, Lisa and James; her stepsister, Suzanne Foos, her husband, Ross, and son, Jason; stepbrother Thomas Clarke and his family; and her nephew Daniel Evans, son of her estranged brother Robert; and other cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

    She was predeceased by her mother, Martha Evans Clarke; father, Andrew Evans, stepfather, John Clarke; brother, Mark Evans; and her in-laws, Lois and William Phillips Sr.

    There was no visitation. A celebration of Lanore's life will be planned later.
