Lawrence Deignan

    Lawrence Deignan of Milford died on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 85.

    Born Jan. 26, 1930, in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, he was the son of the late James and Anna Deignan.

    He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed for many years as a school bus driver for Varsity Transit Bus Company. He met his late wife, Elaine, while tending bar at the Irish Center in the Bronx. They were married for 61 years.

    He loved camping, fishing, dancing with his wife and most of all being surrounded by his family.

    Survivors include his brothers, Michael and William; three children, Carol and her husband, Ben, Lawrence and his wife, Karen, and James and his wife, Christina; 10 grandchildren, Erin and her husband, Tyler, Timothy, Amy, Shane, Daniel, Sean, Shannon, Jillian, Joseph, and Jason; and great-grandchildren, Damon and Kaitlyn.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Milford, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, with the Rev. Paul Mullen officiating.
