Richard Arnold Nachman

Richard Arnold Nachman of Milford, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was 85.
Son of Charlotte Kuharry Nachman and Arnold Nathan Nachman, he was born in 1931 in New York, N.Y.
He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, Syracuse University, and Columbia Law School. He served as Assistant District Attorney for New York County, bureau chief of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, and had private practices throughout his law career.

An avid fan of all teams New York, he was known to have several games on at once while doing the crossword puzzle and listening to a symphony. He was an active sports participant too, playing racquetball, tennis, squash, and softball.
A long-time New Yorker, Richard moved to Milford with his wife, Sally, after retirement. They enjoyed frequent trips around the world, including Europe, South America, the Middle and Far East and Africa. He volunteered at Grey Towers, serving as the initial Vice President of the Grey Towers Heritage Association. He was a formidable bridge player who also loved music and opera. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
The family thanks Ruthann Noto for her love and care during Richard’s final year.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Gifft, of Milford; daughter, Elizabeth and husband, Tim Vokes, and grandchildren Samantha and Alexandra; son David and wife, Julie, and grandchildren Alexander and Olivia; and son Eric and wife, Meg, and grandchildren Caroline, Lauren, and Heather.
