Robert E. Hockenberry

Robert E. Hockenberry of Port Jervis, N.Y., died on June 13, 2017, in Middletown, N.Y. He was 86.
Son of Delbert G. and Harriett Newman Hockenberry, He was born on Sept. 14, 1930, in Port Jervis.
He proudly served the country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He retired from Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis after many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of the Deerpark Reformed Church, an Elder and a Deacon with the Consistory of the Church. He was a member and Past Master of the Port Jervis Lodge of Masons, #328 F& AM; a Past Patron of The River Valley Chapter #33, O.E.S; and Past District Grand Lecturer with the Orange, Rockland and Westchester District, O.E.S. and a life member of Excelsior Hose Co. #5, Port Jervis Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his wife, Esther C. Crane Hockenberry, on May 25, 2016. He was also pre-deceased by his brothers Harold, Charles, and Delbert and sisters May and Mildred.
Survivors include his son, David Hockenberry, and his wife, Karen of Milford, Pa.; daughter, Carol Bianchi of Exeter, Pa.; grandchildren, Monica, Casey, Catherine, Lea and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Coral, Nicholas, Aayden and Joseph; and several nieces and nephews.
A repast, celebration of his life, and luncheon was held June 21 at the Deerpark Reformed Church Fellowship Hall, Port Jervis. Interment will take place at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, N.Y.
