    Robert G. Cole of Montague, NJ died peacefully at home with his wife of 50 years by his side on April 13, 2023. He was 75.

    The son of the late A. Glenn and the late Winifred (Clark) Cole, he was born July 18, 1947 in Franklin, NJ.

    Bob served with the US Army during the Vietnam War as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. He was honored with the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.

    Bob walked in his family’s footsteps by working at Cole’s Garage which he eventually took over and ran for over 30 years. As a local businessman, he believed in and supported the community, particularly the Montague and Sandyston Fire Departments. He served as a Deacon with the Minisink Reformed Church. He was a member of the Montague VFW and also acted as its adjutant. He was a co-founder of the Tuscarora Hunting Club.

    Cherished husband of Patricia Cole at home. Devoted father of Andrea Cole Capeci of Milford, PA and Daniel Cole with his wife Michelle of Cumming, GA. Beloved grandfather of Joshua, Megan, Sophia, Jacob, Ava, Lila, and Wyatt. Brother of Bette Juckett and Patricia Vedra (Paul). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

    Memorial Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2023 from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at KNIGHT-AUCHMOODY Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, NY. Funeral Service Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
