Robert J. Henderson
Robert J. Henderson, D.C., known to most as "Dr. Bob," a chiropractor and family man, died after a long battle with cancer at Orange Regional Medical Center with his wife by his side. He was 58.
Son of Jay and Mary Carney Henderson, he was born on Jan. 21, 1958, in Suffern, N.Y. He attended Pearl River High School and graduated from The Palmer School of Chiropractic. He was a doctor in Otisville, N.Y., for 24 years. He was a licensed pilot who loved and appreciated the beautiful mountains and valley he often soared over with Laura.
Survivors include his wife, Laura White-Henderson, at home; parents, Jay and Mary Henderson of Carrolton, Va., formerly of Pearl River, N.Y.; brother, Keith Henderson and his wife, Karen; sister-in –laws, Susan and her husband, Doug Van Etten, of Milford, Pa., Fran and her husband, Ron DeSear, of Leesburg, Fla., brothers-in –law, John White of Wurtsboro, N.Y., and Robert White of New Hampton, N.Y.; nieces, Barbara Sylvester and her husband, Adam, Susan DeSear, Frances White-Williams and her husband, Bobby, Jenna Henderson and Jaclyn Hendersson; nephews, Douglas Van Etten Thomas White, and John and Stephen White; great-nieces and -nephews, Maya and James Sylvester, Chauncey Williams and Gracie White; and incredible friends that became family and never abandoned him and Laura through their journey, Dwight Coomb, Dave Noble, Donna King, Bret, Holly Gabriella and Caleb Budd, Buck Caston, Michael Cully, Eric Leaf, Michael Hardy, Ashley Prouty, Juliann Bras, Gary Connelly; and his rescue dogs, Cody and Zoe.
Visitation was held Aug. 2 at the Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home in Middletown, N.Y. A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory at the convenience of the family.
