Sandra W. Phipps

Sandra Phipps of Callicoon Center, N.Y., died on Friday, July 3, 2015, at home. She was 70.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack M. Phipps.

Daughter of Mary Hodges Way, Howard Guy Way and June Rose Way, she was born on April 24, 1945, in New York, N.Y.

She earned her nursing degree at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. She was a registered nurse in the NICU unit of St. Luke's Hospital.

She was a loyal mother and father to her kids, a devoted Mimi, loving sister and wonderful friend.

Survivors include her son, Michael Phipps, and wife, Tammy Phipps, of Milford; daughter, Michele Crasa and husband, Dominick Crasa, of Callicoon Center, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Michael Jr., Jacklyn, Rachel, and Nicholas; and her two sisters, Betty (Mary) Way Darbee of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Gale Gross of Culpeper, Va.

Visitation and funeral services were private. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.
