Spencer R. Andersen

    Spencer R. Andersen of Rowland, Pa., died at home on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017. He was 96.
    He was born in Brooklyn and had been a longtime resident of Rowland.
    He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During his career as an iron worker, he worked on the original World Trade Center Towers.
    He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Jenny (McKean) McCue; brothers, Lester Andersen and Alfred Andersen; sister, Dorothy (Andersen) Jacobsen; niece Eleanor (Andersen) Clouse; and nephew Ralph Andersen.
    A family statement says: "He will be missed by all of the Andersen, McKean and McCue families and so many others that he came to know during his life."
    Graveside services will be held at the German Hill Cemetery, Shohola, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Beck officiating.
    Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 66, Greeley, PA 18425.
    Arrangements were made by the Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford.
