Sylvia Recchia
Sylvia Recchia of Milford, Pa., died on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, N.J., after a short illness. She was 83.
Daughter of the late Arthur and Sylvia (Schott) Stivale, she was born on June 27, 1932, in Montclair, N.J.
A permanent resident of Pike County since 1967, she was a co-owner of Pear Alley Antiques with her husband, Joseph, in Milford. She volunteered at the Milford Food Pantry.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Cathleen Recchia of Milford; her daughter, Judy Recchia of Milford; one sister, Arlene Fortunato of Upper Montclair, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. She was an honorary grandmother to Nick, Aaron, Karley, and Lara May.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the Milford Methodist Church, 206 E. Ann St., Milford. The Rev. Luana Cook Scott will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the Milford Food Pantry, c/o Good Shepherd Church, 321 5 St., Milford, PA 18337.
