Terrance Lynn (“Terry”) Rynearson DeGroat of Port Jervis, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, in Port Jervis, N.Y. She was 73.
Terry was born on June 1, 1947, in Port Jervis, the daughter of Gerald Rynearson and Caroline Helt-Williams.
She married her high school sweetheart, David DeGroat, who pre-deceased her on April 18, 2019.
Terry worked at Little Tots in Port Jervis and later at K-Mart in Westfall Township, Pa., until her retirement in 2009.
She is survived by her sons, David DeGroat, at home, Richard DeGroat and his wife, Michele, and Kurt DeGroat and his fiancé, Aimee Keane, all of Port Jervis; her beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Bobbie, Mykila, Trevor ,and Gavin DeGroat; her sisters, Audrey Doss and her husband, Mike, of Milford, Pa., Lori Ogorzaly-Bonomolo and her husband, Bill, of Port Jervis, Cathy Dow and her husband, Courtney, of Shohola, Pa., and Joanie Osczepinski and her husband, Jim, of Matamoras, Pa.; her brother Ralph Marino and his wife, Maryanne, of Eden, Vt.; her step-sisters, Linda Smith and her husband, Don, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Donna Wright of Austin, Texas; her step-brother, Jeffrey Rynearson of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her brother-in-law, Harold DeGroat of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Terry was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Michael Kessock, Uncle Leon Helt, and her sisters-in-law Charlotte DeGroat and Christy Kessock.
Terry had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew her. Rest in peace our sweet Terry.
