Terry Jeffrey Cohan

Terry Jeffrey Cohan—born April 30, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY—passed away in the Bronx VA hospital on December 11, 2022 from heart disease. He was drafted and fought for a year in Vietnam before being wounded in combat. After his return, he worked for the CIA translating and routing Morse Code messages, traveled around the U.S. doing odd jobs, and went to college, graduating from Columbia University in 1980. During the 1980s, he was an undercover investigator focused on corruption in the housing industry for NYC’s Department of Investigation.

He married Sandra Lazar in 1986, moved to Hemlock Farms in 1994, and helped raise two daughters as the family’s “Mr. Mom.” He leaves behind his wife, sister Lauren Bryce, daughters Hayley Cohan and JoJo Cohan, brother-in-law Dr. Stephen Lazar, and three sisters-in-law—Dr. Priscilla Coleman, Robin Painter, and Amy Livezey—as well as their spouses and children.

A memorial service will be held on December 29 at 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford, PA.
