    Thomas F. Hannigan of Gold Key, Milford, Pa., died on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at home. He was 96.
    Son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Gerke) Hannigan, he was born on Jan. 21, 1921, in Astoria, N.Y.
    He was a retired Assistant to the Admiral at Kings Point Academy in Great Neck, N.Y. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Church, Milford; and Tilgman-Angle-Smith American Legion Post #851, Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
    Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Palir) Hannigan; children, Donald Hannigan and his wife, Kim, of Trinity, N.C., Steven Hannigan and his wife, Dotti, of Royersford, Pa., Donna Nielsen and her husband, John, of Jericho, N.Y., and Debbie Connolly and her husband, Chris, of Williamsburg, Va.; stepson, Thomas Welsh and his wife, Laurie, of Dunellen, N.J.; grandchildren, Nicole, Megan, Allyson, Jamison, Mary Jane, Tim, Jen, Larissa, Erin, Brian, Matrasa, and Katie McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jordyn, Jackson, Brandon, Leah, Matthew, Jaeden, Logan, Jake, and Owen; and his brother, James Hannigan of Maspeth, N.Y.
    He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen (Gilmour) Hannigan.
    Visitation was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on March 4. Funeral services followed at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Cirba officiating.
    Burial was to take place at Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, at the convenience of the family.
