William (Bill) John Brewster
William (Bill) John Brewster of Milford died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, in Morristown, N.J. He was 65.
He was born in Hackensack, N.J., and grew up in Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1968 and the University of Miami in 1972.
In Ho-Ho-Kus he worked for the family road construction business, Brewster Construction and Equipment Company. He was the cost manager in charge of several projects surrounding and including the Meadowland Sports Complex. Later, in the 1980s, he relocated with his wife, Patty, to Kinnelon, N.J., where they raised their sons, Matthew and Patrick. The Jersey Shore and Costa Rica were second homes for the family.
For the past four years he resided in Milford in the summer and Costa Rica in the winter.
He had a passion for things that went fast and mostly on four wheels. He completed many custom car projects putting his stamp of creativity and detail on each example.
Quietly and with purpose he supported many people in each community he lived always exhibiting his experience, strength and hope with others.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Abeel Sullivan; wife, Patty; sons, Patrick and Matthew; and brother, Bobby.
The family extends their gratitude for the efforts of Dingman Rescue and all connected with the Morristown Hospital.
An evening gathering of friends and family was scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood, N.J.
