Scholarship drive getting underway

WESTFALL — The Delaware Valley High School Parent Teacher Student Association is committed to raising funds for scholarships every year. The money raised by these scholarships comes from working the football concession stands in the fall, selling discount Hershey/Dorney Park tickets in the spring, and collecting General Mills Box Tops for Education. Anyone interested in donating Box Tops can do so by either using the drop off boxes available in the DVHS 11/12 office, the Milford & Shohola Post Offices and the Milford Branch of the Pike County Public Library. Also Box Tops can be sent via mail to DVHS Attn: DVHS-PTSA, 252 Rt. 6 and 209, Milford, PA 18337. Any donations would be much appreciated. The first meeting of the 2008-09 school year will be held on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. The DVHS-PTSA will be hosting guest speaker John Kasenbach, from the Northeast Pennsylvania Department of Health, who has been invited to speak following the general membership meeting. He is a nurse consultant for sexually transmitted infections for northeastern Pennsylvania. He will be providing timely and accurate information and a slideshow presentation on sexually transmitted infections. This slideshow will include graphic slides and the progression of sexually transmitted infections. He will provide actual case studies and be available to answer questions from the audience. Members of the public are welcome.
