United Way says farewell to volunteer

MILFORD On July 28, the United Way of Pike County presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Patty Dolge, as they said farewell to their longtime volunteer board member, financial systems expert, friend, and mentor. Dolge volunteered her services to the United Way from its beginning, instituting financial record keeping and safeguards that were approved by auditors, and that are still in place today. She served on the board, co-chaired the Annual Day of Caring programs and the 9/11 memorial blood drive. She was an active participant, and a major donor to its annual fundraising campaigns, and gave her heart and mind to too many other projects to count. “Patty has been a wonderful asset to this organization over the years. It’s hard to let her go; she will be greatly missed,” stated Peter Ioppolo, United Way board president. In fact, he said, “We honored her several years ago as our Pike County Volunteer of the Year. “But now, Patty has decided to step down to devote more time to her family, her crafting projects and other community services. The United Way would like to thank Patty Dolge for all her longtime devotion to United Way and the organizations and people it serves.” Just as Patty Dolge volunteered at United Way of Pike County, you can too. They want to hear from you about any of your interests that you think might be helpful to them, and to the community they serve. If you want to help, they can find a place and a job for you.
