Zielazny achieves perfection

MATAMORAS - Dana Marie Zielazny of Matamoras was one of 48 bachelor’s degree graduates recognized for exception academic achievement at Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s May 13 commencement ceremony. Zielazny earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average during her undergraduate careers at IUP and received a bachelor’s degree in theater. She is the daughter of Vicki and Ken Zielazny and is a 2002 graduate of Delaware High School. She was on the varsity swim team from 2002 to 2004 and was in IUP Dance Theater from 2004 to 2006. She won the Shelly G. Portman Dance Scholarship for the 2005-2006 year and the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Certificate of Merit and Regional Honorable Mention for her work with the IUP production of “Pockets.” Some 1,236 students recieved bachelor’s degrees at the ceremony.
