Accused armed restaurant- robber will go directly to trial

    GREENTOWN — A man charged with robbing the Subway Restaurant in Greentown last year waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jay Rose on March 24. Michael Razny, 28, of Newfoundland, is charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and firearms not to be carried without a license. Razny is charged with robbing the Subway Restaurant on state Route 507 in Greentown on April 2 of last year. He was charged by the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigation Unit at the Blooming Grove Barracks. Razny is currently incarcerated in the State Correctional System on unrelated charges. Razny’s alleged co-conspirator Jessica Schotter, 26, of Tobyhanna, previously waived her right to a hearing. Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin said he will prosecute the case against Razny, which will come to trial in the Pike County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.
