DINGMAN — Earlier this month the township supervisors approved an ordinance designating certain “no parking” areas. The specific areas are the cul-de-sac on Cobb Road, Buist Road, Nelson Road, and Nitche Road. Dingman’s roadmaster was given the authority to temporarily designate roads or sections of roads as “no parking” for special events, weather conditions or other appropriate reasons by posting approved “no parking” signs. Township Fire Chief Bill Mikulak reported no major incidents during the month of July. Lake Adventure on state Route 739 was issued a permit for a fireworks aerial display and it went well, he said. “We are gearing up for the hurricane season and all the extra rain expected. All our auxiliary water pumps have been overhauled and we are ready,” said Mikulak. Rock Hill Estates sub-division has revised their lake access walkway to accommodate the fire department’s need to get a pickup truck to the waters edge in case a water rescue may become necessary. The walkway will now be four feet wide with an additional two feet on each side for a total width of eight feet. The township’s personnel policy was updated to provide that township employees are to be paid their regular wages for work performed on Community Service Day. They may help the fire department, the public library and other local community organizations.
