HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Governor’s School application process is now under way. The program is open to all Juniors and in some instances to Sophomores also. The Governor’s Schools of Excellence are five week, residential summer programs for high school students. Students spend this time working with leading experts, educators and mentors in a unique learning environment. The programs take place on college campuses and provide hands-on experience in the agricultural sciences, the arts, health care, information technology, international studies, the sciences, global entrepreneurship, and teaching. Room and board, tuition, classroom materials and activities are covered by full scholarships. The student’s family is responsible for transportation costs and pocket money. All graduates are eligible for special scholarships from many of Pennsylvania’s colleges and universities.
