Barn Hill Care Center expansion nears completion

    NEWTON, N.J. — Barn Hill Care Center, a 130-bed skilled nursing facility, managed by Genesis HealthCare, will complete a $6 million expansion this summer. Barn Hill Care Center offers post-acute/short stay, respite, long term care and rehabilitation therapy services. The expansion is part of a renovation and modernization effort by Genesis HealthCare’s of its more than 200 centers in 12 eastern states. “This expansion allows Barn Hill Care Center to care for more post-acute patients who require therapy after discharge from the hospital but before going home,” said Barbara Cox, administrator. The expansion will include: • An 18,000 square foot expansion featuring a short stay unit with 24 additional rooms, 20 of which are private • A new separate 1,000 square foot rehabilitation therapy gym, dining room and several lounges designated to this short stay wing • All 24 rooms offer enhanced amenities including 32 inch flat screen televisions and telephones • New landscaped courtyard • Expanded parking Construction is expected to be completed early this summer.
