Bears and cars don't mix

BLOOMING GROVE n State police say a 2001 Honda Civic driven by Arthur Bomberger, 54, of Lebanon was disabled on June 22 after striking and killing a bear. Bomberger hit the animal as it attempted to cross the highway, while he driving eastbound in the right hand lane of Interstate Highway 84. The accident occurred at the 33.8 mile marker in Blooming Grove Township, shortly after 7 p.m. Bomberger and his passenger were not injured.
