Milford Mayor Merritt Quinn, left, is pictured Monday after delivering a proclamation naming Oct. 1 as Friends of the Children’s Room at the Pike County Library Day. The Children’s Room, now celebrating its tenth year, is managed entirely by youth volunteers. Volunteers on hand for the presentation before the borough council included, from left: Dustin Balton, Richard Cheng, Ryan Balton, Mike Osterberg and Nancy Shi. The program will move to the new library upon its completion. Library Board President Barbara Buchanan told the council that fundraising for a new 18,000-square-foot East Harford Street building is ongoing. Construction should be completed by 2009.
