HAWLEY n The Wallenpaupack Historical Society’s May meeting was provided with a photographic history of the area by Ken Sprosen and the Hensel team, who assisted in the restoration of irreplaceable glass negatives. Louis Hensel photographed the area around Wayne and Pike counties creating a black and white history from 1897-1927 and based his studio in Hawley. Many of his photographic art work included landscape and village images as well as creations of postcards of the area. The team has worked for several years cataloging, cleaning and scanning the glass negatives. The collection can be viewed and prints purchased through the Hawley Public Library where they are archived. Proceeds benefit the library.
