Builders Association recognizes 06, set for 07

HAWLEY - The Pike County Builders Association (PCBA) annual installation reception was held on Jan. 9, at Ehrhardt’s Restaurant in Hawley. Steve Black, the president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA), inducted Coulby Dunn of Mountain View Homes to his second term as the association President. During 2006 Dunn led the Association on the biggest membership drive in the history of the association. According to their statement, Dunn has “demonstrated his commitment to improving the quality of the building industry and is dedicated to the PCBA members and board of directors in addition to his country and community.” Black also installed the 2007 directors and officers as follows: 1st vice president: Bob Pierce; 2nd vice president: Pete Helms; treasurer: Bill Zernhelt; secretary: Ken Winters and directors: Glenn Strys, Bill Murray, Greg Vannatta, Len Crescimanno, Bob Tauss, Paul Szostek and David Farrington. The association presented several major awards throughout the evening. Past president Mike McCarthy presented Coulby Dunn with a 2006 presidential plaque. There were several “Spike” awards from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Spike Club Program. They recognize and reward the recruitment of new members into the PCBA. Members who participate are called Spikes and contribute to the growth and stability of the PCBA. The 2006 spike awards were awarded to the following members, who are listed with the number of new members they enrolled: Ed Nikles: 300 members; Tom Hogan: 75; Mike McCarthy: 60; Bill Murray: 25; Coulby Dunn: six; Darren Lowell: six; Paul Szostek: six; Pete Helms: six and Len Crescimanno: three members. The Life Director Award was presented to Ken Winters for his ten years of dedicated service on the board of directors.
