Buses for Washington protest march

BEACH LAKE — Buses leaving from the region will carry protesters to two mass antiwar marches to be held in Washington, D.C., this winter. A march on Jan. 27 will focus on influencing Congress to end the war. On March 17, the fourth anniversary of the U.S. invasion, a march to the Pentagon will end in a rally demanding immediate withdrawal from Iraq. The Jan. 27 march will begin at the D.C. Mall at 1 p.m. Locally, Sullivan Peace and Justice has chartered a bus leaving from Monticello, N.Y. at 5 a.m. and making stops at Beach Lake and Scranton, enroute to Washington.
