Bushkill Bridge work will result in one-lane traffic
BUSHKILL The National Park Service announced that US Route 209 will be reduced to one travel lane at the Bushkill Creek bridge beginning on Monday, Apr 6. The flow of traffic will be controlled by a signal light; motorists should expect some delays during this time period. The altered traffic pattern will remain in effect until early summer and is necessary to accommodate construction work on the bridge. A full closure of the bridge, for up to 18 days, will be necessary later in the project. During the closure, traffic will be detoured onto other local roads. The closure dates and detour routes are being coordinated with the adjoining townships and counties and will be announced when the details have been finalized. The rehabilitation of the Bushkill Creek bridge is being managed by the Federal Highway Administration. It is one of many ongoing road and bridge improvements being made throughout Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
