Center raffles new Honda Civic hybrid

DINGMANS FERRY - The price of gas is going back up again just in time for the summer season! But what can you do to reduce your gas bills? Drive a hybrid car! The Pocono Environmental Education Center (P.E.E.C.) in Dingmans Ferry, can help you with your gasoline dilemma. The center is now selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan. The Honda Civic Hybrid was named the Motor Trend Magazine’s “Car of the Year”. The new Honda Civic Hybrid averages 50 mpg and includes features such as automatic climate control, power windows and doors, cruise control, direct ignition system with immobilizer, drive-by-wire throttle system, security system with remote entry, anti-lock brakes and much more. The new car is courtesy of Sussex Honda in Newton, NJ and will be on display in various locations in Pike and Monroe Counties through July. You can stop by the center during the eleventh annual Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 22 to see the new Civic in person. Tickets are $100 each, but the center has increased your chances of winning because only 350 tickets will be sold! Raffle tickets are perfect gifts for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, employee incentives or any occasion. (Tax and tags are not included) The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at the center’s golf outing at Great Bear Golf & Country Club on Monday, July 24. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win. Funds raised through this car raffle will benefit the center’s year-round youth & family education programs. Tickets can be purchased with a check or money order (made out to PEEC) and mailed in with contact information to: RR2 Box 1010, Dingmans Ferry, Pa. 18328. You can also call 570-828-2319 to purchase a raffle ticket with your Visa or Mastercard or stop by the center’s main office during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The center is located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area off of Route 209 between Bushkill and Milford. Its mission is to enhance environmental awareness, knowledge and appreciation through hands-on experience in a natural outdoor classroom.
