Chelak victory is certified
Milford n Milford Attorney Greg Chelak has won the primary election nominations on both the Republican and Democrat ballots in the closely watched race for the new second Judge position on the Pike County Court of Common Pleas. Chelak’s victory on both ballots essentially assures that he will be the next Pike County Judge since he will now run unopposed in the general election in November. Under Pennsylvania election law, a judicial candidate is allowed to cross-file which means run on both the Republican and Democrat ballots in the primary election. Chelak received 65% of the Republican vote, 51% of the Democrat vote and 61% of the overall vote to garner both nominations in the primary election held on May 15. Chelak stated, “I would like to extend a very sincere thank you to each and every one of the 4034 voters who took the time to get to the polls and vote for me. I am also truly humbled by the hundreds of volunteers who participated in my campaign, which included petition circulating, fund raising, stuffing envelopes, erecting signs, making phone calls and working the polls. I look forward to their continued support and vote in the general election on November 6.” Chelak has been actively engaged in the private practice of law over the past nineteen years and has broad experience in many different areas of the law. He has also represented numerous municipalities throughout Pike County and has been involved in countless community activities. Greg and his wife, Stacey Beecher Chelak, are partners in the Milford law firm of Beecher & Chelak and reside in Dingman Township with their three sons, Christian, Corey and Clayton.
