Church aids soldier in Iraq

MATAMORAS - Several care packages began their 6,000 mile journey from St. Joseph’s Church in Matamoras to Camp Liberty, Iraq on April 17. The packages were shipped to 1st Lieutenant Brent McNally, a local resident of the area and a 2000 Delaware Valley graduate. McNally, the son of Jackie and Dan McNally of Matamoras, attended Ranger School, Airborne Training, and West Point where he graduated in 2004. He is serving with the Tenth Mountain Division, and has been in Iraq for the past eight months. Some of the items sent include phone cards, magazines, foot cream, sunscreen, lip balm, and puzzles. Clare Nied, the project organizer, said the next box will be shipped on May 15. Any donations would be appreciated and can be dropped of at St. Joseph’s Church.
