Cops nab robbery suspect

DINGMAN — State police say a witness jotted down a New York license plate number after seeing a masked man enter Pike County Beverage on state Route 739 at Dingman Court Saturday night. The masked man robbed the store of an undetermined amount, brandishing a knife during the 7:40 p.m. robbery. Contacted by state police, Port Jervis, N.Y. police later stopped the older white vehicle and arrested Anthony Montaperto, 22, of Sparrowbush, N.Y., who was arrested on an outstanding N.Y. bench warrant. State police said Montaperto is charged with robbery and other charges related to the Dingman incident, and is being held while awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
